Wish 107.5 holds digital conference for ‘Morissette Is Made’ concert in Dubai

A first-of-its-kind for a Filipino artist's solo international concert in UAE

Ahead of the Dubai leg tour of her hit concert “Morissette Is Made” on August 17, Asia’s Phoenix Morissette Amon gamely answered questions from the members of the press during the Digital Press Conference held last July 9.

The said event, organized by La Verdad Events Management, was participated by the media and bloggers based in the United Arab Emirates, with DJ Jules as host.

Aboard the Wish Bus where she performed two Wishclusive covers, Ms. Amon was joined by the Wish Bus DJs, DJ Alice and DJ Adam. BMPI President and CEO Kuya Daniel Razon was also present to show his support.

Each of the members of the press was given enough time to ask their questions, ranging from Ms. Amon's lovelife to the possibility of her foraying into politics in the future.

UNTV News and Rescue Dubai team had the chance to get to know Ms. Amon more.

Expat Media delves into Mori's humble beginnings in the music industry and how she has been able to succeed so far in her career.

Representatives from FilipiKnows ask some personal questions as well as Mori's preparations for her upcoming Dubai show.

UNTV News and Rescue Dubai team asks about Mori's career dreams, her plans to write her own songs, and genre of music that she finds challenging.

UNTV News and Rescue Dubai: You were named after the singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette. Any plans of writing your own music?

Mori: For the past years, I've always been trying to write my own music. Siguro for now ‘yun muna. Kung anong mga naiisip kong melodies… But the lyrics parang none... shy pa sila. Nandiyan pa sila sa loob ko. It will come. Siguro with the right push.

UNTV News and Rescue Dubai: At such a young age, you’ve already earned the title “Asia’s Phoenix.” We all know that the phoenix symbolizes rising up from the ashes of the past or, simply put, rebirth. Now, how do you ensure that you keep yourself being reborn and stay relevant.

Mori: That’s a very good question. Thank you so much. Wow! Haha. Siguro to be attentive with what the audience, my audience, also wants to hear from me. And I believe I still have so much to give and so much to share with everybody. So sana bibigyan din ako ng mas marami pang chances to be able to share all of this.

…to be able to listen to what my fans and my supporters want din from me and to be able to just be like an open sponge na open sa mga suggestions din. So.. siguro ganon.

UNTV News and Rescue Dubai: Your latest single is entitled “Panaginip.” What else do you dream of?

Mori: Naku, napakadami pa poHeto siguro nag-i-start na siya, but I just really want to keep going. Just to be able to tour and share my music with the rest of the world and, of course, just to be able to travel more and meet and perform for bigger audiences. And more original music din siguro from me. A lot more of that. More of that.

…to be able to listen to what my fans and my supporters want din from me and to be able to just be like an open sponge na open sa mga suggestions din. So.. siguro ganon.

UNTV News and Rescue Dubai: We all know that you can sing pretty much what’s in the songbook. Kasi parang wala  eh.

Mori: Meron po! (laughs) Napakadami rin. Maybe it’s those songs na hindi ko genre… Besides doing mainstream music pop and R&B, I also do theater. So, I like doing broadway songs as well but siguro genre na hindi ako familiar… Siguro takot din akong i-try kasi I know how technical it is. Maybe ‘yung jazz music. Kaya sobrang bow down ako sa mga marunong din mag-jazz kasi kailangan magaling ka talaga and you know where you’re going with your notes and your melody. But I’m willing to learn of course.

Ms. Amon is set to showcase her vocal prowess at the “Morissette Is Made” concert happening on August 17 at the Dubai World Trade Center, Zabeel Hall 2. She will be joined by the total performer Sam Concepcion; the first Wishcovery Grand Champion, Princess Sevillena; and the other four members of the Wishful 5.
